Capture the beginning of a new chapter

Maternity and newborn photography to help you remember this special time for years to come.

From maternity photography through to those first days with your new baby, I’ll help you capture the moments you’ll want to remember.

Newborn photography

Newborn photography takes place indoors in the studio.

The experience is designed to be relaxed and personal, with time taken to create photographs that capture this important stage of your family’s story.

Newborn photography sessions are completely baby-led, creating a calm and relaxed experience for both parents and baby. There is never any pressure to rush. If your baby needs feeding, changing, cuddling or settling, we’ll simply take the time needed before continuing the session. The aim is to create beautiful photographs while ensuring both baby and parents feel comfortable throughout the experience.

Maternity photography

Maternity photography can take place in the studio or outdoors on location in Cheshire.

We can also combine indoor and outdoor photography at the studio.

We’ll talk through what you’re looking for and plan the experience around you.

Wardrobe guidance and preparation are part of the wider experience, so you’ll know what to expect before your session.

Maternity sessions can include your partner and older children, allowing us to capture this stage of your family’s story together.

Memories you'll be able to enjoy every day

Once your photographs have been created, I’ll help you choose the images that mean the most to you and explore how you’d like them displayed in your home.

Wall art, framed artwork and albums can turn those photographs into finished pieces that become part of your family’s home.

From your first conversation to finished artwork

01. Discovery Call & Booking

We'll start with a conversation about this chapter of your story, and who you'd love involved, from siblings to grandparents. Once you're ready, you'll secure your session and pay your session fee. For newborn clients, your due date is booked provisionally so we can arrange things once baby arrives, don't worry, I know how unpredictable they can be.

02. Consultation & Planning Session

We'll plan things in detail, talk through how your artwork could look at home, and walk you through our prep guides, including wardrobe support for the whole family. Your Viewing & Design Consultation can also be scheduled at this stage.

03. Photography Session

This is where we capture these fleeting, precious early days. Sessions typically take 2 to 4 hours, an average rather than a limit, because babies work to their own timetable. There's no rush and nowhere else I need to be. If baby needs feeding or settling, or siblings need a break, we simply wait.

When you arrive you will be welcomed with refreshments.

04. Viewing & Design Consultation

You'll return to the studio for your cinematic viewing and design consultation, choose your favourite images, and design your finished artwork over Prosecco and chocolates. We'll place your order and talk through payment plans if needed.

05. Artwork Reveal & Collection

Once your artwork arrives, you'll return to the studio to see it, celebrate and take your pieces home.

Invest in these moments

Invest in these moments

These are the moments you don’t want stuck on a camera roll you never open. They deserve better than that.

Same simple approach here: you pay your session fee at booking, then afterwards you pick the images that mean the most and choose how to keep them: a piece of wall art marking your growing family, an album of those very first days, or a set of frames you’ll treasure long after this stage has passed. It’s built around what you want, not a fixed package.

No unnecessary extras, just the photographs and artwork that let you hold onto this chapter properly.

Maternity & newborn questions

Where does maternity photography take place?

Maternity photography can take place in the studio or outdoors on location in Cheshire. A combination of indoor and outdoor photography at the studio is also possible.

When is the best time to have maternity photos taken?

Anywhere between 32-35 weeks pregnant is typically the best time for a photoshoot, however I can accommodate earlier or later depending on individual needs. Please bear in mind, an increase in antenatal appointments and baby’s unpredictability as the pregnancy progresses, earlier is always better so that you don’t miss out on the opportunity for photos before little one arrives.

Where does newborn photography take place?

Newborn photography takes place indoors in the studio, with sessions typically scheduled when baby is around 7 to 14 days old where possible.

What happens if my baby doesn't sleep?

Don't worry. Every baby is different and sessions are designed to be flexible. Newborn photography is completely baby-led, and we'll work around your baby's needs on the day to create beautiful photographs regardless of whether they sleep throughout the session.

What happens if my baby needs a break?

That's completely normal. Sessions are baby-led and there is plenty of time built in for cuddles, settling, feeding and comforting whenever needed. There's no rush.

What happens if my baby needs feeding or changing?

We simply pause the session and allow plenty of time for feeding, changing and settling. Newborn sessions are designed around your baby's needs, so there's never any pressure to hurry.

When should I book my newborn session?

Ideally, book after your 12 or 20-week scan so your due date can be provisionally reserved. Once baby arrives, get in touch as soon as practical so we can arrange the session, usually when baby is around 7 to 14 days old.

Can partners or other family members be included?

Yes. Parents and siblings are welcome to be included in newborn photography sessions, allowing us to create photographs that celebrate your growing family.
